He was referred to as “the Killer” and called “Rock and roll’s first great wild man, and also one of the 20th century’s best pianists.” Lewis, who is a forerunner of rock and roll and rockabilly music, recorded his debut songs in 1956 at Memphis, Tennessee’s Sun Records.
