At least no one will be forgetting the gender of their babies anytime soon.
One couple’s joy quickly turned to panic after narrowly avoiding a disaster at their gender-reveal party when the pyrotechnic device intended to announce the sex of their twins malfunctioned and almost burned down their house.
Jenni Alarcon and Lucas Motta — who live in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil — went all out for the bash, even hiring a professional videographer to capture the moment they found out the gender of their babies.
However, after the device exploded — showering guests in confetti and pink smoke — they realized the wooden fence behind them had caught on fire.
In a now-viral video, the parents-to-be stand in front of giant letters spelling out “babies” as the colored smoke — which was pink — shoots into the air.
The excitement soon turns to panic, with guests heard screaming as the fence behind the “S” goes up in flames which start to spread.
As the fire gets bigger, Motta is seen dragging some of the giant letters away to stop them from also catching alight as party guests scramble to contain the blaze.
Alarcon posted a video of the near-miss to TikTok, where it has been viewed more than 4.4 million times.
Responding to a comment on the video, Alarcon said their guests were unharmed, and it was just a “scare.”
