Love Island’s Samie Elishi has revealed she was recently rushed to hospital and has been forced to postpone her upcoming thyroid surgery due to illness.
The reality star, 23, shared a tearful video in April as she discussed a recent cancer scare when she found a lump on her neck.
Updating fans on her surgery to have the lump removed, Samie explained on her YouTube channel that she fell ill after her recent cruise trip.
Detailing the hospital scare, she said: ‘I didn’t realise how bad tonsillitis could be but I was on an IV drip on the cruise to try and get food and water in me because I couldn’t eat or drink.
‘Then as soon as I landed I was meant to go to the Beyoncé concert with PrettyLittleThing which I’m absolutely gutted I couldn’t make but I had to land and go straight to the hospital.

Samie continued: ‘Me and my mum went straight to the hospital and got checked out because the antibiotics I got given on the cruise were wearing off so I had to be admitted into hospital here.
‘So I was there almost over night and basically I didn’t know this but you can’t have surgery if you have an infection.’
Samie went on to say she was forced to postpone her thyroid surgery due to her illness, but it is scheduled to go ahead in a matter of weeks.
‘My surgery was meant to be a couple of days later after the cruise so it got postponed. Now it will be at the end of this month so it is quite soon now,’ she said.
‘I’ve had such amazing messages as well saying how helpful it has been me sharing my journey. People have found lumps in their throat and went to get it checked out.
‘People have been sending me photos of the scarring which has healed because that’s what I was worried about but I’m not anymore, I just want it over and done with. So yeah surgery is still going ahead it just got postponed.’
Samie recently told her followers fans spotted a lump on her neck which doctors revealed to be ‘grade three’, meaning they cannot tell if it is cancerous or not.
She said: ‘It’s a 5cm lump on my thyroid’ before revealing she was awaiting surgery where doctors will be able to take a biopsy.
She also admitted she had not posted a lengthy statement about her recent break up from beau Tom Clare due to her ongoing health concerns.
The reality star, 23, said: ‘My surgery was meant to be a couple of days later after the cruise so it got postponed. Now it will be at the end of this month so it is quite soon now’
She told the camera: ‘It is intense, Me and Tom have broken up. It’s ended on good terms. No one’s done anything bad to each other, there’s still lots and lots of love there’.
‘It just wasn’t working on the outside and we both agreed on the majority of the things.
‘There’s no bad blood there, me and Tom. I would never say a bad word about him and he wouldn’t about me.’
She added: ‘We just weren’t working on the outside. I feel like when you come out of the villa you’ve got so much pressure and so many other things to worry about that plays a huge factor in a relationship.
‘I thought me and Tom were going to live happily ever after but life happens’
She then tearfully discussed her upcoming surgery, saying: ‘Basically what they do is they cut your neck… I shouldn’t be upset because I’m so grateful that people messaged and I’ve caught it now. I’m so grateful’.
